STEVEN B. FISHER

Steven B. Fisher received his B.S. in Liberal Arts & Sciences from the University of Illinois in 1984. He earned his Juris Doctor from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law in 1987. While at Kent, Mr. Fisher received the Ramsey-Burke Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the Henry Homer Book Scholarship. Mr. Fisher was also a semi-finalist in the Charles Evans Hughes Moot Court Competition.

Mr. Fisher is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois and has been admitted to practice pro hac vice throughout the United States. He is a member of the trial bar for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Appellate bar for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the International Association of Arson Investigators.

Mr. Fisher, a partner in the firm, is a trial attorney whose practice has been varied. Mr. Fisher has represented insurance companies, corporations and hospitals in matters ranging from contract disputes to major casualty losses. Mr. Fisher has consulted clients on first-party property insurance coverage interpretation, including contamination and asbestos related claims, as well as complex, multi-party subrogation matters.

Mr. Fisher has particular expertise in the areas of fire causation and spread, product design and malfunction and construction related occurrences. Mr. Fisher's expertise in products liability includes knowledge of applicable codes and standards adopted throughout the United States as well as industry custom and usage. Mr. Fisher has successfully prosecuted claims resulting from chemical explosions, spontaneous combustion as well as claims attributable to internal product failure.

Mr. Fisher has also pursued significant claims stemming from commuter railroad collisions which caused substantial personal injuries and property damage. In this regard, Mr. Fisher is also a member of the Million Dollar Verdict Club, having secured a jury verdict in a railroad subrogation matter in excess of $1,000,000.

Further, Mr. Fisher is one of a select group of lawyers who can claim responsibility for securing an $8,500,000.00 settlement in a complex fire subrogation matter.

Mr. Fisher's practice also concentrates on third-party liability insurance disputes, including coverage analysis, as well as third-party casualty defense work.
