PETER E. KANARIS Mr. Kanaris is the Co-Managing Director of Fisher Kanaris, P.C. His practice principally involves first-party insurance and reinsurance coverage, antitrust, commercial, construction, environmental and toxic tort, and employee dispute law. Mr. Kanaris has extensive experience in complex, multi-party litigation, having tried cases in state and federal jurisdictions. He has also represented and advised clients with respect to litigation pursued in England, Germany and France. Recent representative cases include:
Mr. Kanaris received his undergraduate degree from Duke University (B.A. 1982) and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis (J.D. 1985). Mr. Kanaris has been admitted to practice law in the States of Illinois and New York. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer on legal topics covering a wide range of subjects and has made more than 20 presentations in the last ten years at educational conferences and training sessions for insurance companies, trade associations and legal organizations. He has published several articles, including: “Overview of the Appraisal Process Under the First-Party Property Policy,” ISBA Ins. Law Section (1996); “Common Exclusions in the First-Party Property Insurance Policy and their application to Environmental Claims,” Tort & Ins.
