MARC F. KATALINIC Marc F. Katalinic earned his Bachelor's degree from DePaul University in 1987. He earned his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from the John Marshall Law School in May, 1990. While at John Marshall, Mr. Katalinic served on the Editorial Board of the school's Law Review. Mr. Katalinic is admitted to practice in Illinois and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice before numerous courts, both state and federal, throughout the United States. Mr. Katalinic is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Mr. Katalinic's litigation practice includes extensive trial work, representing the interests of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has focused his efforts on insurance related matters. He has represented insurance clients in both multi-party subrogation matters as well as in first-party, property insurance cases. He has also been actively involved in commercial and construction related litigation in addition to providing a defense in a variety of casualty matters. Mr. Katalinic's subrogation practice has taken him to jurisdictions throughout the United States where he has represented subrogated insurers and often times uninsured or underinsured corporations. He has personally conducted and supervised numerous loss site investigations, beginning with the initial retention of experts and ending with the preservation of crucial evidence for future use at trial. Mr. Katalinic has particular expertise in the area of fire litigation, product deficiencies as well mechanical failures. Significant recoveries have been obtained in matters involving a variety of legal theories encompassing intricate tort, contract and equitable concepts. Mr. Katalinic's subrogation experience includes alternative dispute resolution. He has successfully handled such matters in the context of arbitration and mediation, both voluntary and court ordered. In the first-party property insurance area, Mr. Katalinic has represented clients in technical coverage claims as well as providing overall policy interpretation services.
