JEFFERSON D. PATTEN SHAREHOLDER
With more than a dozen years specializing in large value, first-party coverage disputes, Jefferson analyzes and litigates matters across the country in both federal and state jurisdictions. Whether through trial, dispositive motions or alternative resolution, he has successfully defended the firm’s national and international clients against claims by corporate insureds, municipalities and state governments on a broad-range of issues including property damage, ordinance and law, soft costs, revenue losses and contact penalty or bad-faith claims, as well as effectively prosecuting arson and misrepresentation defenses. Although concentrating on first-party coverage matters, Jefferson’s areas of practice also include general commercial disputes, admiralty, construction contracts and claims, subrogation recoveries, product liability and transportation and cargo losses.
Prior to law school, Jefferson spent four years in the United States Marine Corps as a Non-Commissioned Officer. When not working, he spends his time managing and coaching his kids youth hockey, lacrosse and soccer teams.
