Ms. Buford concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, products liability, construction litigation, professional negligence, and general liability in both state and federal court.

Prior to joining Fisher Kanaris, Ms. Buford served as an attorney in the law department of the Chicago Transit Authority. In that capacity, she defended the municipal corporation against personal injury lawsuits. She also worked for years at an international law firm. Her practice focused on defending pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers against claims of strict liability, negligence and fraud in state and federal court. She was an integral part of a national litigation team representing a client in numerous personal injury law suits filed across the country arising from a patient’s development of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis allegedly due to use of client’s products. Ms. Buford also served as second-chair counsel in the winning defense of a client in a week-long arbitration against whom in excess of $15 million in damages were sought. She earned her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She was a rower in college and helped lead her boat to a third place finish in PAC-10s and a twelfth place finish at NCAAs.
